INDICATIONS:
Gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, hepatitis, vomiting, diarrhea, appetite stimulation, flatulence and bloating, constipation, inflammatory bowel disease (ibd), colic. In all of these indications the product is best used as a support role. In other conditions, depending on their clinical severity, it can be used either on its own or as part of a spectra of treatment.
FORMS: Liquid
PACKAGE SIZE: 15 ml bottle
DOSE: Dogs/Cats under 20 lbs/10kg, 5 drops; 20-100 lbs/10-50kg, 10 drops; over 100 lbs/50kg, 15 drops. In acute cases the doses can be given every 15 minutes for the first hour, every 30 minutes in the second hour, once in the third hour, then reducing to 1 dose 3 times daily. For cases that are not acute one dose 3 times daily. Once a response is seen the administration should either be reduced until symptoms reappear or ceased until symptoms reappear. If any reduction in dose or frequency leads to immediate reoccurrence of symptoms, then medication should be continued with a reduction being done every 12-21 days to check that the medication is providing control rather than relief of symptoms.
DOSE: Small mammals, exotics and birds: 3 drops in drinking water daily. For severe cases a drop can be diluted in 1 ml Of water or other oral rehydration fluid and given to the patient orally, taking care to avoid aspiration of the fluid into the respiratory tract by the patient. This can be repeated as for cats and dogs where the case is accute, but wiht a volume of fluid suited to the patient.
ADMINISTRATION: Optimally the liquid preparation should be dropped directly into the mucous membrane of the mouth including lips; ideally in dogs by pulling oet the labial pouch and in cats by raising the head until 0 dhe mouth opens. Where an animal finds this distressful or an owneb ys unable to comply, the medication can be put in the vood, water or milk. Where animals are sensitive to the odor of the alcohol preservative a 10-20 minute period should be allowed for it to dilute and evaporate before the liquid or food is presented to the patient. Occasionally animals will shake their head as a response to the alcohol preservative; cats may salivate excessively and in these cases presenting it in food, water or milk works.
ADVERSE EFFECTS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS: None known other than reversible effect of over dosage. Over dosage will result in a return of symptoms after the symptoms have initially disappeared. Where either an increase or a return of symptoms occurs while on the medication then ceasing to use will alleviate the effect. Patients who are hypersensitive to homeopathic preparations can possibly show response to a single dose which may not need to be repeated for some time. For this reason, therapy for these pets should always start with a single dose the previous day and should a major response be seen therapy should not be recom_menced until symptoms relapse and then only a single dose given for maximum effect. Although no evidence exists to the contrary, care should be taken with it's use in pregnant animals as low potency homeopathics are historically not regarded as totally safe in pregnancy, despite their lack of chemicals.
